Fatso Manifesto · March 6, 2008

Three years ago today I weighed 15 lbs less than I do now, and was in a lot better physical shape. Granted, I was 3 years younger, went to the gym on a regular basis, ate the right things, and I’m sure between then and now my metabolism has changed. Nevertheless, I’m approaching the big 3 0, and I’m tired of being overweight and out of shape, for a number of reasons:

  • I have a hereditary tendency to be heavy, so overcoming this now will be a lot easier to do and maintain now than later.
  • I’m tired of looking at myself in the mirror every day, thinking about what I could look like.
  • It’s healthier to be in shape.
    • Too many things to list here
  • I have a ton of clothes that I haven’t worn in a long time because I think I’m too big for them.

So, it’s time for me to get back on the wagon. The big steps here are:

  • Get back to a regular workout schedule
  • Eat the right things
  • Eat less, more frequently

I guess the reason I’m publishing this is so that it’s not just the same old plan that I rehearse over and over in the back of my head and keep saying “I’m going to start next week”. This time, I’m going to do it, and anyone who wants to can call me on it if I don’t. Thus, my rearchitecture begins. Wish me luck!
